Collection: South African KOEVOET Police CAMO

The SADF Koevoet Police CAMO is inspired by the camouflage pattern worn by Koevoet, a notorious counterinsurgency unit of the South African Police (SAP) that operated in South West Africa (now Namibia) during the Border War (1966–1989). Koevoet, meaning "crowbar" in Afrikaans, was a highly mobile police paramilitary force specializing in tracking and eliminating SWAPO insurgents in the harsh bushveld terrain. Their camouflage pattern was distinct, featuring bold, irregular blotches in green, brown, and tan, optimized for concealment in Namibia’s semi-arid savanna and rocky landscapes. Unlike the SADF Nutria Brown, which was standard for South African forces, Koevoet’s unique camouflage helped distinguish them while enhancing their effectiveness in bush warfare. The SADF Koevoet Police CAMO available through CAMO HQ is inspired by this historical pattern, maintaining its rugged, battle-proven aesthetic while being adapted for commercial and non-military applications.
