Collection: Chinese Denison Type 84 CAMO

The Chinese Denison Type 84 CAMO is inspired by a rare and distinctive camouflage pattern used by Chinese airborne and special forces units in the 1980s. This pattern draws clear influence from the British Denison Smock camouflage, which was originally developed for British paratroopers during World War II. The Type 84 variation, worn by select units of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Airborne Corps, features large, irregular brushstroke patterns in green, brown, and tan, optimized for woodland and mixed terrain environments. Unlike China’s more standardized camouflage patterns, Type 84 was limited in use and eventually phased out in favor of digital camouflage by the 1990s. While no longer in active service, its influence remains visible in some Chinese paramilitary and collectors’ circles.
