The Danish Flecktarn Desert CAMO is inspired by the M/01 Desert camouflage pattern, developed for the Danish Armed Forces as a modification of their M/84 Woodland Flecktarn. Introduced in 2001, this pattern features a pixelated mix of tan, brown, and beige tones, optimized for desert and arid environments. It was primarily worn by Danish troops deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan as part of NATO and coalition missions, where desert concealment was essential for operations in sandy, rocky, and semi-arid terrains. Inspired by the German Flecktarn design, this camouflage utilized a disruptive dot pattern to break up the soldier’s outline, making it highly effective for long-range concealment. Though eventually phased out in favor of MultiCam, M/01 Desert remains an iconic part of Denmark’s military history.
