The American Tiger Stripe Desert Elite units and special operations forces primarily wore camouflage during the late 20th and early 21st centuries. This variation of the traditional Tiger Stripe pattern was adapted for use in arid and desert environments, featuring muted earth tones such as tan, brown, and beige to conceal sandy and rocky terrains effectively. Units such as U.S. Navy SEALs, Green Berets, and other special operations forces utilized this camouflage during missions in desert regions, including conflicts in the Middle East. Its unique design allowed for excellent disruption of the wearer’s silhouette while maintaining the iconic tiger stripe aesthetic associated with stealth and effectiveness. The pattern also became popular among military advisors and contractors in similar environments.
