The Tiger Stripe Airman Battle Uniform (ABU) CAMO is inspired by the Airman Battle Uniform (ABU) worn by the United States Air Force (USAF) from 2007 to 2021. This pattern was a modernized tiger stripe design, featuring muted gray, tan, and green tones optimized for urban and mixed-terrain environments. While based on the classic Vietnam-era Tiger Stripe, the ABU version was designed for garrison and utility use rather than frontline combat. Despite its widespread issuance, the pattern was often criticized for poor concealment in combat zones, leading to its eventual replacement by Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) uniforms. Variations of the ABU Tiger Stripe were also adopted by allied air forces, such as the Afghan Air Force and select U.S. law enforcement tactical units. The Tiger Stripe ABU CAMO available through CAMO HQ is inspired by this modern USAF camouflage, preserving its distinctive design while adapting it for commercial and non-military applications.
