Collection: South African RECCE Hunter Group CAMO

The SADF RECCE Hunter Group CAMO is inspired by the camouflage pattern worn by the Hunter Group, a specialized unit within the South African Reconnaissance Regiments (RECCE) during the South African Border War (1966–1989). The RECCE units were elite special forces tasked with long-range reconnaissance, unconventional warfare, and counter-insurgency operations, often operating deep behind enemy lines. The Hunter Group was a select division within the RECCE forces, known for its expertise in tracking and bushcraft. Their camouflage pattern featured a mix of earthy browns, greens, and tans, optimized for concealment in the dense bushveld and savanna environments of Namibia, Angola, and South Africa. Unlike the standard SADF Nutria Brown, this pattern provided superior blending in varied terrains. The SADF RECCE Hunter Group CAMO available through CAMO HQ is inspired by this specialized unit’s camouflage, preserving its distinct aesthetic while adapting it for commercial and non-military applications.
