Mimetico Vegetata Desert Camo is a desert variant of the Mimetico Vegetata camouflage, developed for the Italian Armed Forces to enhance concealment in arid and semi-arid environments. Introduced in the early 2000s, this pattern was designed for Italian military deployments in the Middle East, North Africa, and Afghanistan, where traditional woodland Vegetata was less effective. The desert version features a pixelated digital design similar to its woodland counterpart but incorporates shades of tan, beige, and brown, allowing Italian troops to blend into sandy, rocky, and dry grassland terrain. This camouflage has been used by the Esercito Italiano (Italian Army), Carabinieri military police units, and special forces operating in desert environments. It follows the trend of digital desert camouflage patterns adopted by NATO forces, similar to MARPAT Desert (U.S.) and CADPAT Arid (Canada).
