Collection: German Plane Tree Platanenmuster Summer CAMO

Plane Tree Platanenmuster Summer Camo was a WWII-era camouflage pattern developed for the Waffen-SS, first introduced in 1937 as part of Germany’s early experimentation with military concealment. The name Platanenmuster translates to "plane tree pattern," referencing its large, organic, overlapping leaf-like shapes designed for woodland and temperate environments. The summer variant of this pattern featured vibrant greens, light browns, and tan shades, optimized for dense foliage and grassy terrain, making it highly effective during the spring and summer months. Issued primarily for smocks, Zeltbahn (tent ponchos), and helmet covers, this pattern was often reversible, with an autumn variation on the opposite side for adaptability to seasonal changes. Post-war, Platanenmuster influenced camouflage designs in Eastern Bloc militaries and paramilitary organizations. The version of Plane Tree Platanenmuster Summer Camo featured on CAMO HQ is inspired by this historic German military pattern, preserving its distinct aesthetic while adapting it for collectors, reenactors, and commercial applications.
