Truppenversuch Punkttarnmuster CAMO

Truppenversuch Punkttarnmuster Camo is an experimental camouflage pattern developed for the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) during the late 1970s and early 1980s as part of trials to modernize German military camouflage. The name Truppenversuch translates to "troop trial", while Punkttarnmuster means "dot camouflage pattern", reflecting its distinctive dappled, dot-based design. Inspired by the WWII-era Erbsentarn (pea dot) camouflage used by the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS, this pattern was tested for woodland and temperate environments but was ultimately not adopted, with the Bundeswehr choosing Flecktarn instead in the 1990s. Despite remaining a prototype, it influenced later digital and multi-environment camouflage designs. The version of Truppenversuch Punkttarnmuster Camo featured on CAMO HQ is inspired by this rare and historically significant German trial pattern, preserving its unique aesthetic while adapting it for collectors, historians, and commercial applications.
