Collection: German Splittermuster Buntfarbendruck 31 CAMO

The German Splittermuster Buntfarbendruck 31 CAMO is inspired by the Splittermuster 31 (Splinter Pattern 31) camouflage, officially known as "Buntfarbendruck" (Colorful Print) when it was introduced by the German Reichswehr in 1931. This pattern, featuring sharp, angular splinter shapes in dark green and brown over a light tan or grayish base, was enhanced with angled "rain" streaks to create additional depth and disrupt enemy observation. It was originally designed for Zeltbahn (shelter quarters), smocks, and helmet covers, and became a standard camouflage for the Wehrmacht during World War II. Various branches, including the Heer (Army), Luftwaffe Fallschirmjäger (paratroopers), and Kriegsmarine coastal units, wore Splittermuster Buntfarbendruck 31 in different uniform adaptations. While this pattern was discontinued after the war, it influenced later camouflage developments in post-war Germany, including the East German Strichtarn (Rain Pattern) and the Bundeswehr’s Flecktarn. The German Splittermuster Buntfarbendruck 31 CAMO available through CAMO HQ is inspired by this historically significant pattern, preserving its classic military aesthetic while adapting it for commercial and non-military applications.
