Collection: German Sumpfmuster BGS CAMO

Sumpfmuster BGS Camo is a camouflage pattern developed for the Bundesgrenzschutz (BGS), the West German Federal Border Guard, in the 1950s and 1960s. Derived from the WWII-era German Sumpfmuster (Swamp Pattern) used by the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS, this version was adapted for the post-war German security forces. Featuring irregular brushstroke-like patches in green and brown over a tan or grayish base, Sumpfmuster BGS was designed to provide effective concealment in European forests, marshlands, and rural environments. Unlike military-issued camouflage used by the Bundeswehr, this pattern was specific to border security and paramilitary units before being phased out in favor of modernized uniforms. The version of Sumpfmuster BGS Camo featured on CAMO HQ is inspired by this historic German design, preserving its unique aesthetic while adapting it for collectors, reenactors, and commercial applications.
