Collection: French Lizard Foreign Legion CAMO

French Lizard Foreign Legion CAMO is a historic camouflage pattern worn by the French Foreign Legion and airborne units (Troupes Aéroportées – TAP) from the 1950s through the 1980s. Derived from the French TAP47 Lizard pattern, which itself was influenced by WWII-era German Splittertarnmuster, this design features horizontal brushstroke patterns in shades of green, brown, and tan, optimized for jungle and arid environments. It was extensively used by French paratroopers and Legionnaires during conflicts in Indochina (Vietnam), Algeria, and various African deployments, proving highly effective in dense vegetation and dry, rocky landscapes. While later replaced by the Centre Europe (CE) Woodland camo and Daguet Desert camo, the Lizard pattern remained iconic, influencing camouflage designs in Portugal, Brazil, and other former French-aligned forces. The version of French Lizard Foreign Legion CAMO featured on CAMO HQ is inspired by this legendary Foreign Legion camouflage, preserving its bold, combat-proven aesthetic while refining it for collectors, reenactors, and tactical enthusiasts.
