American Navy Working Uniform (NWU) Type III (AOR-2) Woodland CAMO

The NWU Type II (originally codenamed AOR1) and NWU Type III (originally codenamed AOR2) is worn by specialized units such as the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, Navy SEALs, Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsmen, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians and Seabees. NWU Type III is worn by Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen and by all other U.S. Navy members. Unlike the NWU Type I which was based on the BDU cut, both the NWU Type II and NWU Type III uniform cut were redesigned heavily to be more ergonomic.

The NWU Type III has been issued to new naval recruits since late 2017 and completely replaced the NWU Type I in 2019 when the latter was discontinued and phased out of service. Delta Force and DEVGRU were the first to field AOR1 garments, in 2006. The AOR1 was phased out in Delta by 2009 in favor of MultiCam, but kept the AOR2 whose predecessor pattern, the DG3A, they also have tested in 2005. AOR1 has also been used by the 24th Special Tactics Squadron.
