Track Jacket Fit & Features

Most customers find the track jacket fits true to size with a regular, relaxed profile that works well for layering. The sleeves are generally long enough without being overly baggy, and the body length provides good coverage without feeling too short. It may feel slightly snug across the back and shoulders when worn over thick layers, so consider sizing up for additional room and comfort.

Pattern History: DPM

Disruptive Pattern Material (DPM) was developed by the United Kingdom during the late 1960s and officially adopted by the British Army in the 1970s as the successor to the World War II-era Denison Smock and earlier brushstroke camouflage patterns. Featuring large, irregular shapes in black, brown, dark green, and light green, DPM was designed to provide effective concealment across the temperate woodlands of Europe while maintaining excellent performance at both close and long distances. It quickly became one of the most successful and widely recognized camouflage patterns of the Cold War.

Over the following decades, DPM was worn by British forces in Northern Ireland, the Falklands War, the Gulf War, the Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan, and numerous peacekeeping operations around the world. Its effectiveness led to widespread adoption and adaptation by military forces in countries including Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, Kenya, Indonesia, and others. Although the British Army has since transitioned to Multi-Terrain Pattern (MTP), DPM remains one of the most influential camouflage designs ever created and a defining symbol of British military heritage.
