Size and Fit

CAMO HQ products are made by several trusted production partners, so sizing and fit may vary by style. Always review the product-specific size chart before ordering, and compare the listed measurements with those of a similar garment you already own. If you are between sizes or prefer a more relaxed fit, consider sizing up. Small measurement differences are normal in apparel production.

IMPORTANT SIZING NOTE: THESE NECK GAITERS RUN TIGHT!

  • They need to be stretched before wearing for maximum comfort.
  • These gaiters are designed to fit snugly dust and wind protection.
  • If you prefer a loose fit, these may feel too tight unless stretched.

Before wearing it, gently pull each end to stretch the fabric. Repeat a few times until the gaiter relaxes to your desired comfort level.

Pattern History: DPM

Disruptive Pattern Material (DPM) was developed by the United Kingdom during the late 1960s and officially adopted by the British Army in the 1970s as the successor to the World War II-era Denison Smock and earlier brushstroke camouflage patterns. Featuring large, irregular shapes in black, brown, dark green, and light green, DPM was designed to provide effective concealment across the temperate woodlands of Europe while maintaining excellent performance at both close and long distances. It quickly became one of the most successful and widely recognized camouflage patterns of the Cold War.

Over the following decades, DPM was worn by British forces in Northern Ireland, the Falklands War, the Gulf War, the Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan, and numerous peacekeeping operations around the world. Its effectiveness led to widespread adoption and adaptation by military forces in countries including Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, Kenya, Indonesia, and others. Although the British Army has since transitioned to Multi-Terrain Pattern (MTP), DPM remains one of the most influential camouflage designs ever created and a defining symbol of British military heritage.
