Production Time

Most CAMO HQ products are made to order and normally require approximately 3–7 business days for production before shipping. Due to a temporary surge in demand and limited production capacity, all-over print products fulfilled from our Latvia facility may currently require 7–9 business days for production. This delay affects only qualifying AOP items produced in Latvia and does not include shipping transit time. Production times are expected to return to normal by early August, depending on order volume.

Pattern History: Chocolate Chip

The Chocolate Chip camouflage pattern, officially known as the Six-Color Desert Battle Dress Uniform (DBDU), was developed by the United States during the late 1970s and officially adopted in 1981 for operations in arid environments. Designed for the rocky deserts of the American Southwest and the Middle East, the pattern features broad tan and brown shapes accented by small black-and-white "chips" that resemble scattered rocks and shadows, giving rise to its popular nickname. Although originally intended for desert warfare, Chocolate Chip gained worldwide recognition during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm in 1990–1991, where it became the iconic camouflage of U.S. and Coalition forces during the Gulf War.

While highly effective in rocky desert terrain, the pattern proved less suitable for the open sand landscapes of the Arabian Peninsula, leading to its replacement by the three-color Desert Camouflage Uniform (DCU) in the 1990s. Despite its relatively short military service, Chocolate Chip remains one of the most recognizable camouflage patterns ever produced and a defining symbol of the Cold War's final years and the Gulf War era. Today, it is highly sought after by military collectors, historians, veterans, and camouflage enthusiasts around the world.
